Buckles boosts graduate training programme

16th June 2008

Buckles is seeking to increase the intake of graduates to its award winning graduate training and recruitment programme.

Launched in 2003, the Buckles graduate training and recruitment programme has produced 36 graduates who are now fully fledged independent financial advisers and based at Buckles’ Rhyl headquarters.

Now, the firm is keen to expand the programme dramatically. Nigel Speirs, Chief Executive of Buckles Holdings says:

“Most of our existing graduates have a connection with North Wales and we are eager that this continues. We would like to recruit from local universities or to recruit students who have gone further a field to study and now want to move back to North Wales.

“The rewards are considerable and a career as an IFA is as attractive as accountancy and law.”

Although, the programme takes three years to complete, trainees are able to advise clients after the first year.

Sophie Webb, 24, has completed the Graduate Training Programme and now is a fully qualified consultant advising a wide range of clients.

Sophie is from North Wales and took a degree in economics at Cardiff. She was offered jobs with Grant Thornton and Rolls Royce on graduation, but chose Buckles instead.

This year Buckles will offer 33 places in 3 tranches of 11.
The first date for recruitment is 1st July so any graduates who would like to be considered should send their CVs in to Mrs A Jones or e-mail recruitment@buckles.ltd.uk
