Buckles Holdings Limited, (“Buckles”), the Rhyl-based Independent Financial Adviser announces that Paul Bradshaw, the leading industry figure, will be appointed non-executive Chairman of the firm. Bradshaw will also be appointed a non-executive director of Sanlam UK Limited. Sanlam acquired a 60% stake in Buckles in April 2008.
His career spans 35 years in the financial services and he has worked for a number of household names such as Abbey, Scottish Amicable and Skandia Life Assurance. He is a fellow of the Institute of Actuaries and began his career as an actuarial student with Pearl Assurance.
Commenting on the appointment Nigel Speirs, Chief Executive of Buckles, said:
“I am delighted to welcome Paul as our non-executive Chairman. He is one of the most experienced figures in the industry and his knowledge and wisdom is exactly what we need as we continue our programme of expansion.
“Buckles has grown very rapidly over recent years and Sanlam’s investment will enable us to continue our programme of acquiring the businesses of IFAs who wish to retire, with the assurance that their clients will continue to be well looked after. Over the last five years we have acquired some dozen client banks in Wales and the North West and we have identified many more.”
“Our award winning graduate training and development programme, which has produced a stream of fully qualified professional advisers, has been a great success. We now aim to roll the programme out in other parts of the country.”
